I was able to interview immediately upon walk in, after completing a written application. There was a small group of friendly and competent human resources staff available at the time.
I applied online. The process took 3 days. I interviewed at Macy's (Miami, FL)
Interview
Applied online and received an email the next day asking to sign up for an interview time online. I signed up for an interview and went in two days later. The ladies in HR were very friendly and nice. I was 15 minutes early and waited less than 5 minutes for the interviewer. I noticed she read my application which felt like they were very organized. She asked me to tell a little bit about myself and my previous job. She then looked up what positions were available and took me to tour that area as well as meet some of the employees and managers in that department. They were all very welcoming and friendly. When we returned she offered me the job and I start training the next day.
I also wore all black with pearls and heels and I could tell they were pleased.
Just a tip: I think it is very important to have the image they are looking for. It is important to have experience but they will teach you everything you need to know, but being friendly and having the look is something they obviously cannot teach you.
I applied online. The process took 2 days. I interviewed at Macy's (La Jolla, CA) in Mar 2022
Interview
I started with a "virtual", interview that included recorded video questions. I went through all of the many required tests and online video recordings and received a phone call from a woman to come in the very next day for an interview.
Note: When I filled out the online application I checked the box that indicated I could work evenings and weekends.
The woman who greeted me acted like she was surprised that I could only work part time hours.
I stayed calm and polite, I smiled I made eye contact which she rarely returned and unfortunately, her disgruntled mood never improved. The interview was actually a big waste of time for both of us. If she did not like my recorded video interview or the fact that I just wanted to work part time, then why did she contact me for an interview?

Question 1
All this interviewer cared about was the hours I could work.
I applied online. I interviewed at Macy's (Staten Island, NY) in May 2020
Interview
It was pretty easy, I think the one thing was that I was nervous so I felt like I will mess up, but they made me feel relaxed and confident with what I was saying.
