I was able to interview immediately upon walk in, after completing a written application. There was a small group of friendly and competent human resources staff available at the time.
I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Macy's (Honolulu, HI) in Aug 2010
Interview
I applied online and received an email a couple days later saying that they would like to interview me. I was provided a link that allowed me to select a day when I was available (Note: the only days available were 2 weeks from the day I was sent the link).
My interview was a 1:1 interview where I was asked:
1. Describe a time you set a goal and what you did to attain it.
2. Describe a time you were met with a difficult situation at work and what did you do to resolve it.
3. Describe a time you saw a friend/coworker break a rule and what did you do?
There were only two part-time positions available and he offered them both to me. All in all, a great experience.

Question 1
Describe a time you set a goal and what you did to attain it.
I applied online. The process took 2 days. I interviewed at Macy's (La Jolla, CA) in Mar 2022
Interview
I started with a "virtual", interview that included recorded video questions. I went through all of the many required tests and online video recordings and received a phone call from a woman to come in the very next day for an interview.
Note: When I filled out the online application I checked the box that indicated I could work evenings and weekends.
The woman who greeted me acted like she was surprised that I could only work part time hours.
I stayed calm and polite, I smiled I made eye contact which she rarely returned and unfortunately, her disgruntled mood never improved. The interview was actually a big waste of time for both of us. If she did not like my recorded video interview or the fact that I just wanted to work part time, then why did she contact me for an interview?

Question 1
All this interviewer cared about was the hours I could work.

Interview
It was pretty easy, I think the one thing was that I was nervous so I felt like I will mess up, but they made me feel relaxed and confident with what I was saying.
