I applied through a recruiter. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Microsoft (Boston, MA) in Nov 2013
Interview
A recruiter contacted me through linkedin and asked me if I am interested in applying for Microsoft intern. I submitted the required application materials and they scheduled me for a one-hour interview. During the interview, the interviewer asked me some behavioral questions and talked about some projects I have done. Then we moved on to technical problem solving, which is pretty standard.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
1. How do you test a keyboard?
2. Given nine items and one of them is heavier than the others, how do you find the heavier one using a scale twice?
The hiring process started with an online assessment that focused on problem-solving and coding skills.
After passing the assessment, I was invited to a series of 3 back-to-back technical interviews.
Each interview was primarily centered around data structures and algorithms, with questions similar in style and difficulty to LeetCode problems.
Interviewers also evaluated problem-solving approach, code quality, and the ability to explain thought processes clearly while coding.
Overall, the process was structured, technical, and heavily focused on algorithmic problem solving and communication skills.
2 45 min back to back with leetcode and behavioral questions. Wasn’t too bad just tagged will help and be prepared for resume grill. Review resume fully and should be ok
I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Microsoft
Interview
The interview process begins with an online Codility assessment which includes two leetcode problems - easy/medium. After about a month I had three interview rounds of about 45 minutes each. About 15 minutes are spent for some behavioral questions about me, working in team, projects etc. The rest of the time is for leetcode problems, i would say medium. I got the interview results after a week, but it can take longer
