There were four interviews: one with HR, another with the lab director, another with the Epic support director, and one final interview with a VP and laboratory staff. The VP caught me off guard with curveball questions that had very little to do with my work values or skill set relevant to the position, and the two director interviews ended up being on separate dates due to one of them taking PTO the day I was supposed to be meeting with both of them together.
Additionally, I was required to submit five references to SkillSurvey, including two mandatory supervisor references, before having any clue whether I was likely to be selected for this position.
Guess what I got after agonizing over who to reach out to for references and being strung along for over six weeks! A generic rejection email from HR with zero feedback as to why I wasn't chosen, even though I seemingly made it to the end of the process.
