I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Nando's UK & IRE (Dublin, Dublin) in Oct 2022
I saw a QR code on one of the Nando's branch window that they are hiring. This QR code links to the Nando's career website and I could apply for FOH position online. You can also check which Nando's branches are hiring at the moment by using the filtering option. I got a call from a restaurant manager and also received whatsapp messages afterwards with the information about where to find the restaurant and the exact time of the trial shift again for clarification which was nice. You do a trial shift with one of the Nandocas or with a buddy trainer for 4 hours, you are not paid for this trial shift, however you get a nice staff meal on that day. After the trial shift, I had a proper interview with one of the managers and filled in a paper which I remember it was about fire hazards and restaurant's safety regulations. The interview itself was quite nice and promising, I was told right away they want to hire me and was asked from when and which days I am able to work. Contract and important documents were provided and the response from the restaurant managers were super fast too. The actual company name is Nando's Chickenland Ltd. Ireland.
- Availability, current status (i.e. student), what you value at a work place, strengths & weaknesses (how would you like to improve them) working in a team, and coping skills in high-pressure work condition.

I applied online. I interviewed at Nando's UK & IRE (Leicester, England)
Relaxed over the phone interview, asked relevant questions to my hospitality experience and what hours I was looking for. The duration lasted 10 minutes and felt more like a discussion opposed to a typical 'Interview'.
- Why do you think you are suited to this role?

They invited me to the trial shift. Before the shift, they asked you to read some instructions to work in the kitchen. After the shift, they would ask some questions about your availability.
- What time that I am available to work?

The process is HR Interview, line manager interview, online tests, verbal reasoning and numerical, case study presentation and then questions and answers on the case as well as interview with business partner and another member of the leadership team. Personally this is a lot of steps needs, some of the only tests are the ones which you complete for grad roles. I have never seen these done for experienced hires. The process in my opinion is quite outdated and probably should be reviewed and compared to similar companies. The last interview were you presented the case was not too pleasant. You are given grilling. Three people asked different questions, constantly changing scenarios. It did not feel like a friendly environment. No productive feedback given, just told someone had better experience in the sector.
- All dependant on case study. Challenging stakeholders.

Anonymous Employee in London, England

Two stage interview, first is a relaxed interview with the People's team. Prior to the Second interview, a case study is given for you to work on, it is based on a fictitious restaurant P&L & you are to present your findings in a powerpoint. The second interview is held with the MD (Area manager) & you go over the details of the job & present & are given feedback on the case study.
- Salary expectations, previous experience, It's a good idea use the case study to highlight your personal experiences & how you'd best navigate a certain situation.

I applied through other source. The process took 1+ week. I interviewed at Nando's UK & IRE (London, England) in Jun 2023
I applied for the job and roughly a week later, got a text message asking for a suitable time for a quick phone call. the phone call was just them asking me about the hours I can work and when I could go in for a trial shift.
- What hours are able to work?

Anonymous Employee in Edinburgh, Scotland
I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Nando's UK & IRE (Edinburgh, Scotland) in Apr 2023
The interview was at the end of a “Discovery Day” of learning the ropes of grilling. It mostly consisted of questions about previous experiences and problem solving. They are really looking to see how you perform and interact with the rest of the team on the trial shift. The interview is mainly to check that you had a good time and can do the same work consistently and in a fast-paced setting. They just want to get to know you more after seeing you work.
- Tell me about an experience of overcoming a challenge.
- What are your hobbies/What do you like to do outside of work?

Anonymous Employee in Broughton, Wales
I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Nando's UK & IRE (Broughton, Wales) in Feb 2023
From start to finish the hiring process was very professional. It started with a phone call interview who was very friendly asked a lot about me and what I could bring to Nando’s. The face to face interview was quite informal but professional at the same time, I met staff members and was able to ask questions about my job role. The hiring manager was very helpful throughout.
- Phone call interviewer asked about myself, what I could bring to Nando’s and the expected sales from my previous job role. The face to face interview was similar to my phone call. Asked about sales from my previous job, why I want to leave, expected salary, what would my old job miss about me etc

There is a 2-stage interview process. I first had a 30-minute Teams meeting with a team member, where they get to know about you and see if you're going to be a good personality fit for the team. They'll also try and answer any questions you may have about the company/role. Then I had an hour long Teams meetings with your potential team leader and programme manager. In this they get to know you a bit further by asking about your background and what you'd do in certain situations. There's no real technical interview because they have the approach that you can teach skills. I was told that I would hear back from them within a couple of days after the second stage about whether I had been successful or not. I didn't hear back anything for 3 weeks and that was only after I chased the initial HR contact for feedback, who then seemed annoyed that I was chasing for feedback.
- How would approach setting up testing for a new project/product, specifically regards to automation or manual testing?
