I was contacted by HR to set up an interview. At the beginning of my interview I was told that I this interview was actually for another position, an entry level Claims Rep. They asked if I would be interested in this position since it was far less pay, and weekend and night work was necessary. I asked if the position would be temporary then move into the Claims Adjuster position. They said after I would work at that position for approximately 1-2 years I could move to another position. We went onto discuss my experience. They said they could offer me the position they had to offer. However, one of the managers said, "you wouldn't want to take this position. You're have about the same or more experience than the Claims Manager." They said they would have the Claims hiring manager contact me because I would be a great fit. I followed up with the managers who did interview me, and haven't heard anything since!? Overall, I was disappointed that I had been called to interview for a position that I hadn't applied for without any prior knowledge. I felt duped. Was the position I applied for no longer open? Confused.
