Originally applied for a role within PWC team about 5 years ago. At the beginning of that process, I was told I would be a great fit for the team, however at a more junior level. Ok fair enough I guess? But then after 3 rounds of interviews, a case study and reference checks - I never heard anything back? After chasing them for weeks with no response, I finally got a vague response that I was unsuccessful as I was deemed too senior and a better fit for the original role I applied for. Wasted everyone’s time.
Don’t ask me why, but I applied again to the same team and same role. First was a ‘screening’ call with HR. I should let you know that this call was after business hours, and was described to me as a ‘quick 5 minute’ call. It wasn’t, rather it went for about an hour. Despite the role being quite senior, the questions were very junior and seemed more suited to an intern. Anyway it was incredibly difficult, but not for the reasons you’d expect. Rather the lady on the phone didn’t speak very good English. I constantly had to repeat what I said and even explain simple terms to her.
Then there was the actual interview itself. The same interviewee from the Sydney Customer Transformation team from 5 years ago interviewed me. The interview was virtual, but unfortunately this time he had a new puppy. He constantly had to leave the call to attend to his new puppy (at one time he left for up to 5 minutes). I hate to think how they treat clients if this how they behave on interviews 😬.
Anyway despite saying I’d hear back within a ‘couple of days’, I’ve had zero response or acknowledgment in over a month. Emails have gone unanswered. I should also note, that one of the interview questions was around the importance the PWC team places on ‘transparency’ and ‘ethics’. But apparently this transparency and ethics doesn’t apply to potential employees? Exactly The same PWC experience from 5 years ago.
