      IT Consultant Interview

      I interviewed at PwC

      Interview

I've applied online and I was contacted about a week later for the first interview. The first interview was a technical interview with one of the technical leads, which went well. The interviewer already mentioned at the end of the interview that it has a positive feedback and I will be contacted for the next interview which will be with a manager and HR. I went to the 2nd interview about a month later and I experience the most unprofessional people I met in my life. First the manager was late for more than half an hour and when he finally arrived he rushed and told me that we have about 20 minutes left and I should hurry in describing him my experience (like it was my fault for him being late). I started talking and after 5-10 minutes later he suddendly interrupted me (it was obvious from his superior attitude that he wasn't even listening) why did I change so many companies during my career. I tried to explain (I have very objective reasons, many of the cases was a deal made with that company for a commitment for a specific time) but again it was clear that he wasn't paying attention to what I was saying and started explaining that I don't know how to pick companies and how important is for them to be loyal. I don't know why they even bother to call me for the interview, since it was very clear from the resume what was bothering him. I realised that he made up his mind in a talk of 15-20 minutes, without even listening to what I was saying. After that I was left alone in a room again and waited another half hour for the HR person to arrive. When that person finally arrived the first thing he said was "Sorry for being late, but I'm very busy" - again the same attitude like my time is not that important as their time and I'm a person that doesn't have anything to do just waiting for them to give me some of their precious time. But even considering that the interview whit HR was better as it was with the manager because at least I was listened to what I was saying. What stroked me was that they didn't even knew (nor the manager and HR) that I had a technical interview a month ago and they asked me with whom I had the interview to ask that person about the feedback (fortunately I remembered his name). To sum up, my time and theirs was wasted as the only decision that matter was the one of the manager and he made up his mind about rejecting me while reading the CV during my speech - I'm pretty sure he didn't read the CV before the interview. If he would do that I wouldn't have been called to the interview, which would have been better for everybody.

      Interview

The process was straightforward and similar to other interviews I have had in the consulting world. The interviewers were professional and knowledgable about the work expected. They were responsive to my inquiries and gave me a good sense of what I could expect joining a new client team and how often I would be expected to start new work.
