Rhino Africa put out a job posting for a filmmaker and editor. Understandably, they sent a folder of video clips to edit as a test. After spending many hours editing their film and submitting it, they got back and said that the work is great, but due to a reshuffle in the organisation they can not hire anyone at this time.
1. Either they lied or
2. Why would they let people work to prove themselves if they aren't actually hiring?
Since then, I met a few people in the industry who have worked with them before and quickly understood that this is just a broken org, who are more obsessed with winning awards and calling themselves "the king of this jungle" than looking after employees.
