I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Royal London (Edinburgh, Scotland)
Interview
I was given a 'coffee chat' a quick look over my CV and few questions to see if I had the right attitude. This was actually the toughest stage as I was challenged in my answers a lot. The next stage was presentation on how I would increase business within my first 6 months, role play with an 'IFA' followed by another panel interview. This was a pleasant experience for myself, my advice would be to make sure you read brief correctly, think outside the box with role play & be yourself.

Question 1
What has a been challenged you have faced and how did you overcome this
I applied online. I interviewed at Royal London (Edinburgh, Scotland) in Jun 2025
Interview
Initial screening call was great. Invited to attend a face to face. My interview ended up being with someone completely different to who I was expecting and it was just one guy by himself. Not two. So the counter to any bias wasn't there. I'm not entirely sure he even heard what I was saying a lot of the time as he was trying to multi task (listening to me, writing and asking questions). They have heavy emphasis on the outdated star technique and want a million different examples. If you use the same one more than once it's an instant rejection. They encourage you to apply again but don't tell you they will instantly reject you unless you wait 6 months.

Question 1
Typically questions around solving difficult queries using the star method.

Initial telephone call then supposed to be zoom call, this never happened as they stopped communicating, very unprofessional and not what you expect from a reputable company. But they suddenly dissapered and never found out why
Thank you for leaving a review and your initial interest in Royal London. It is disappointing to read that feedback and an outcome was not given following your initial call. Our recruitment process ensures verbal and written communications throughout so we will look into the process behind this role to see how this was missed in your case.
