I applied through an employee referral. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Sourcegraph (Lehi, UT) in Jul 2021
Interview
The interview process was very straightforward for the most part and very transparent. I’ve never had an employer be so open about some of the questions that I asked. There were three main parts to it:
- Mock customer meeting
- Company Values and Employee Fit
- Mock Demonstration
The mock demonstration was the hardest part for me but the team was extremely helpful and patient. I enjoyed the mock customer meeting, although it was challenging, it provided some great insights into the daily challenges of the role. As for the culture fit portion of the interview, it was more of a conversation with two of the team members and wasn’t drastically different than what I’ve experienced at other tech companies

Question 1
What was a situation in which you helped raise up another team member?
I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Sourcegraph
Interview
Sourcegraph is completely transparent about every step of their interview process. Their handbook is public and the hiring team is wholly supportive and eager to answer any questions. The trajectory is pretty standard: phone screen —> hiring manager —> technical / take home assessment —> panel interview —> offer. I rated the process as 'Difficult' because I felt I needed to do a fair amount of preparation to understand and demo their product — but thanks to the helpfulness of everyone I spoke to, I felt prepared and encouraged at every stage. I've never felt so little hesitation when accepting a job offer. Best interview experience I've had!
