I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at State Farm in Sept 2011
Interview
The job was posted online. I tested and uploaded my resume. I was contacted for a phone interview. Next I came in for a meeting with the office manager. The next meeting was with the office manager and the agent. I also meet with some of the other staff. The interview process was very professional and I like the opportunity to work on salary and commission. I also suggest you check out the agents website and facebook account. You should also read up on the companies web site. Agents are independent contractors and you are working directly for the agent.
I applied through university. I interviewed at State Farm (Greenville, SC) in Feb 2021
Interview
During COVID they were all either phone or zoom calls and the last one is an in-person meeting. It was step by step being connected to different people trying to find the right location for me.
I applied online. I interviewed at State Farm (Arlington, VA) in Jan 2019
Interview
The interview process is extremely muddied with pseudo science and Meyers Briggs personality assessments. The Meyers Briggs assessment is a lazy and incompetent method of hiring candidates based on anecdotal evidence about what attributes lead to successful agents. The personality assessment is absurd and does not factor in human intuition and past accomplishments.
I applied through university. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at State Farm (New York, NY)
Interview
My interview with the agent last over an hour, with questions ranging from career goals to strength and weaknesses. We had a pretty good conversation which doesn't seems like an interview. Salary and commission were also in the discussion. Overall, it was a good interview.
