      Software Engineer Interview

      7 Jul 2021
      Anonymous interview candidate
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

      I interviewed at Strateos

      Interview

Had a interview with a initial phone interview with a recruiter. I just simply asked her name and the position and she got upset and hung up the phone. I've never really had an experience like this and it was really strange. Would not recommend Strateos to anyone looking for a software engineering job. If thats the intial phone review, I can't imagine how bad the rest of this process is

      Question 1

      Application

I interviewed at Strateos (New York, NY)

      Interview

Interview process looked like a mess. Basically they forgot to email me a video link to the first interview. Got asked a few cookie cutter questions like "why do you want to work here" before the interviewer tried to bail in ~10 mins. Seems like my resume got accidentally passed along, ha. Disorganized, the interviewer didn't tell me anything about the company unless I specifically asked a question, and my interview with the hiring manager included literally 0 technical questions. Gotta give this one a hard thumbs down.

      Software Engineer Interview

      12 Aug 2023
      Anonymous employee
      Menlo Park, CA
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Strateos (Menlo Park, CA) in Feb 2021

      Interview

      - Intro call with recruiter - Tech screen the question was to manipulate JSON objects based on some requirements. - 5-6 rounds in the virtual onsite can be broken into a few days. The onsite was a meeting with VP of HR/people, chat with manager (who I think ultimately decides which team to put you on), chat with a product designer, system design with questions re: knowledge of Restful API's (which shows they value thought process more than execution here), worked with a senior engineer on a React coding challenge to navigate existing codebase and build out form fields. - The first manager I spoke to must have been on the fence because HR reached out soon after the interview to schedule another call with me and a different manager whose team I ended up joining. The process was long and somewhat difficult, but the vibe from the interviewers was casual and informal which made it easier

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

      - Manipulate JSON objects - Navigate React codebase to add inputs - System design question was mostly about Restful APIs
