I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Target (Los Angeles, CA) in Jan 2010
Interview
There's a screener, usually the recruiter, or you get referred, or you apply. Then you do a general interview with standard questions (why do you want to work for target). Then they have situational interview questions on the 2nd round of interviews. Its all about if they like you enough to hire. If you don't come up with some good examples or do not communicate well or have a red flag statement. They will not give you an offer.

Interview
Set up an initial interview at campus career fair. Was then contacted by district manager for a phone interview about a week later, and then regional manager for final phone interview a week after that. Phone interviews took around 20 minutes and used the STAR based behavioral questions. All three employees I interacted with were very friendly and informative throughout the process.
