I applied through university. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Target (Durham, NC)
Interview
Was recruited in b-school. They were courteous and very thorough. Initial outreach via phone. Screening and interview process consisted of proprietary multiple choice personality/aptitude test; in-person interview; psychology review/interview. No joke, they brought a psychologist to the school to do the evaluation during the 'interview.'

Question 1
The most difficult aspect was speaking to two people, one of whom was not a professional on the team but a psychologist sitting there checking off boxes on a form. It was almost surreal, and turned me off immediately to the process - it was an examination as much as it was a conversation about how I could help the company/division. Felt overbearing and unnecessarily intrusive, especially at the early stage of the process.
I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Target (Seattle, WA) in Nov 2022
Interview
Standard F500 corporate interview starting with the HR recruiter followed by the hiring manager. The interview questions were typical; going through candidate resume and discussing cultural fit for the position.
I applied in-person. The process took 7 weeks. I interviewed at Target (Minneapolis, MN) in Sept 2014
Interview
after applying, went over some basic questions on the phone with recruiter. met with manager in person, as i was an internal candidate. interview was 3 rounds, all 30-45 minutes with a series of behavioral style questions, which is target's style.
