I applied online. I interviewed at Tesco in Aug 2016
Interview
The interviewers were running late (but didn't apologise) and didn't take us to the interview until around 10:20am. They then proceeded to tell us the format- individual interviews, some time on the shop floor and then a group exercise involving building a 6ft paper tower in 10 minutes.
There was supposed to be 5 of us but only 3 turned up. Then even although I was the first to arrive, they said as there were only 2 of them interviewing someone would have to wait to be interviewed (me). I was left in a room with no phone signal for around 35 minutes to stare at the walls..
The actual individual interview itself went fine, they asked me to fill in health and safety forms, when I was available to work and questions about previous experience etc.
I told them that I'd only applied for one position unlike the others who'd applied for a few because I was only looking for 16 hours with school and she then proceeded to tell me they weren't really looking for school candidates as they couldn't work before 6am or 10pm..
Why they brought me in for an interview I'll never know, it was clear on my CV that I'm in my last year of school...
