I did 4 stages of interviews with this company which included the final round.
Firs stage was a call with the in house recruiter, talking about the role and seeing what I wanted out of it.
Second with a call with the director of the AI and data team, just going a bit more into technical experience.
Third round was an hour SQL live coding with an external company. This was straightforward.
The forth involved going over my technical background again with the team lead. What they failed to mention and surprisingly did was test me on sql again, in the last 20 minutes. This was not mentioned in the pre interview email. I was a bit baffled to be honest because they went to the trouble of a hiring an external company to do that. I didn't really take it seriously, I wasn't sure what they wanted to test to be honest, and it was not well prepared. Additionally, as a senior engineer, I encourage questions and clarity around problems - it's important people quickly understand what's being asked in order to deliver what is needed. The interviewer however seemed annoyed at me asking clarification questions and said to explore, in the limited time I had been given. For comparison, interviewing with meta and especially Google were much more sensible, talking through ideas and discussing different ways of achieving something. Here, I believe they want a data monkey.
Following that, I asked for an update from the in house recruiter who did not respond. Some days later, I get a no-reply email from greenhouse, thanking me for speaking with them but rejecting, which is fine. But I went through 4 rounds of interviews with them and this is all they could be bothered to do. I know why I failed but there was no real feedback from them hence ignored emails which is pretty disrespectful.
