I applied through an employee referral. The process took 5 weeks. I interviewed at USAA (San Antonio, TX) in Jun 2011
Interview
They took about 3 weeks for them to start the hiring process. They gave me a phone interview which consisted of just resume justification. Then took them 3 days to lemme know that they wanted a follow up interview which consisted of 2:1. The interview was a week later, The interview wasn't that difficult same interviewing questions on glassdoor. They hire anyone in the military before they hire anyone else. They didn't bother calling back until about another week later they emailed stating they regret to inform... yadadada.

Interview
I submitted my application and was called by a recruiter about a week after. I had 1 phone screening with the recruiter, followed by a technical screening with the IT manager and 2 technical interviewers the next day. I was called back that same afternoon as the technical interview and said they would like to have a face to face interview. The interview was a week from the second phone interview. It was situational and technical. The situational interview you do a sudoku puzzle where the main focus is how well you work with your partner(s). You have to work together to solve a sudoku and scheduling problem all while making the others feel good about themselves. The technical interview was specific to mobile development as that is what I applied for. There weren't any coding questions it was mostly a conversation about what things I knew and didn't know about android and iOS.
