Probably the most unprofessional HR department I have ever encountered.
HR employee A reached out to me via LinkedIn for the aforementioned position. I said I was interested and provided my concact details for a short call, as requested. HR employee A did not respond back that day, so the next day I sent a reminder in order to verify that the process is ongoing. Still no response.
A couple of hours later, HR employee B calls me, on behalf of HR employee A, to discuss the QA role (???). I explained that the role I was proposed was Java microservices. They proceeded with describing the company's processes. In the end, they asked how much money I would like for that role. I answered with an amount that certainly did not amuse them, as they asked me "Is this amount similar to your current compensation?". The HR employee B, said that we will continue the process and book a technical interview and then added "oh my Calendar is stuck, let me restart my laptop and I will call you right back". Then proceeded ghosting me.
I did not persue any further contact, considering the unprofessional handling by their side. It's ok to reject an applicant (even prior to a technical test/interview), but do inform the latter, rather than saying an excuse and ghosting them.
Definitely HR Department of the year from HR Awards, well deserved!
