"How do you deal with ambiguity?" - this is obviously an issue on the company if they ask it during an interview ...........which I don't mind at all - I can deal with it, but this much during the recruitment process meant that my perception of their competence as an organisation needs to be called into question.

Not all details of a problem or solution are known early on (or at any time for that matter) so one needs to be able to work with limited information and be able to make educated guesses, high level analyses and decisions to move forward until such time as more detailed information becomes available, then ideas, proposals, solutions etc. can be refined.
