We are a big and ambitious team at Lidl Northern Ireland.
Bursting onto the Irish grocery market in 1999, we have changed the face of shopping for the better with top-quality products made available at the lowest possible prices. With over 5,000 colleagues over 190 sites across Northern Ireland and Ireland, we know our people are our greatest asset. Our success is down to the commitment and dedication of our team
We’re incredibly proud to be the UK’s most loved bed retailer. Most recommended, too, as it goes.
We know finding that ideal bed can be tricky (and don’t
get us started on mattresses!) but that’s why we’re here.
As a British business, we’re proud to manufacture locally,
where we make, sell and deliver over half a million
mattresses, headboards, and divans every year.
Now that’s a lot of Zzzs.

Ringtons is a nationwide producer of award-winning tea, specialty coffee and other items such as biscuits, gifts, sweet treats and much more.
Our story dates back to 1907 when Samuel Smith started the business with the idea to sell quality tea directly to people at their home. He started with a £250 investment from a business partner, and a horse drawn cart. Today, Ringtons has one of the largest tea and coffee manufacturing facilities in the UK and remains a family business under the custodianship of the fifth generation of the Smith family.
The original delivery method of horse and cart has been replaced many times over the years, however product quality combined with the original doorstep delivery method remain unique to Ringtons.
With over 250,000 customers nationwide and 45 million Ringtons drinks produced every week, it's fair to say we know our coffee and tea. Our expertise in the beverages industry ensures fresh, quality tea and coffee is delivered within weeks of being made and our customers have the best experience whether they buy online or from one of our dedicated doorstep salespeople.
Doorstep customers receive a regular delivery of tea, coffee, edibles and gifts straight to their homes via our traditional doorstep delivery service, whilst our online store brings Ringtons products to a world-wide audience.
Our tea and coffee facility based in the North of England not only produces its own range of tea and coffee, it also roasts specialty coffee as well as creating private label opportunities including buying, packing and blending tea for prestigious UK retailers. We also provide the Ringtons standard to the nations cafes, restaurants, hotels and workplaces via our wholesale division.
Taking accountability for the whole process, Ringtons invests in its supply chain and maintains control over all production and innovation included it’s LeafLock technology.
At Ringtons, we are committed to continuous improvement. We believe in the principles of doing what's right, building collaborative relationships, and supporting growth, which are at the heart of our values and the Ringtons Way.
What our Staff Say
“I have worked in retail and hospitality most of my career and working at Ringtons is by far the best job I have ever had. When I say I have a work-life balance, I really mean it. In previous jobs, I was working up to 19 hours per day whereas here, I tend to finish at 5.30pm and what’s even better I can drive home in the company van, there is no weekend work or night shifts and we get all public holidays off, including Christmas and New Year!
“Being family-owned, you are definitely treated as an individual rather than a number and my managers take the time to listen to me and help me progress. I have grown so much in the time I have been here and been rewarded greatly for my efforts. With uncapped commission the role is really what you make it.
- Salesperson/Delivery Driver, North Tyneside.
“Prior to Ringtons, I worked in a bakery for eight years and worked my way up to a manager. I loved all the people I met but I wanted to be out and about more rather than in a shop so when I saw this job advertised, it felt right.
“Four years later and I haven’t looked back! I can meet up to 80 people per day and I am constantly chatting to them and hearing what they’ve been up to. It’s so rewarding to know that you’ve brightened their day just by dropping off their regular deliveries.
“I was quite shy at school but now you can’t shut me up. Working in this role has definitely made me more of a people person.
“It’s an amazing culture too, I get on really well with my colleagues and actually look forward to getting up in the morning.”
- Salesperson/Delivery driver, Birstall.
At Esland, we offer care, education, and therapeutic support to 6 to 18 year olds from diverse backgrounds who have encountered a range of adverse childhood experiences.
These experiences include complex trauma and foster placement breakdowns, as well as difficulties engaging in their education setting.
The young people we support often have mental and developmental diagnoses which impact their daily functioning.
To help a young person manage these challenges we make every interaction with them therapeutic in nature.
With our support they learn how to build positive and trusting relationships, regulate their emotions and try new and positive experiences to support their transition into adulthood.
Most importantly, we put our young people at the heart of everything we do, with the dedicated support of our talented teams, partnerships, and community relationships.
At Esland, we’re dedicated to building bright futures, not just for our young people, but also for generations to come. Our environmental, social and governance (ESG) commitments play a crucial role in shaping the future of social care and education. They help enhance vulnerable young people’s quality of life and well-being and progress initiatives that benefit society.
Our commitment
It's why we're so committed to helping vulnerable young people grow, flourish, and thrive by giving them the care, education, and therapeutic support they need.
Being able to transform lives means we can drive long-term social value for local communities.
Our journey began in 1959, when Charles Forte joined forces with Blue Star Petroleum to create something truly pioneering. Just a year later, Welcome Break opened its very first service area at Newport Pagnell – a place designed to offer comfort and convenience to travellers on the move.
Over the decades, we’ve evolved with the times, introducing new brands, fresh ideas, and innovative services to make every stop more than just a break.
Our Keele site opened in 1963, warmly welcoming families and truck drivers as the motorway extended north. By 1969, London Gateway greeted travellers heading in and out of the capital, while Leicester Forest East, with its iconic bridge, had been charming visitors since 1966. Corley joined the journey in 1972.
Together, these sites tell the story of a motorway network coming to life, each one a milestone in the history of travel, hospitality, and the simple pleasure of a well-timed stop along the way.
Those early days feel almost cinematic now: silver‑service dining, bow‑tied waiters and full table service and with that, Newport Pagnell earned a quiet claim to fame as the UK’s first motorway service station, a pioneering site that set the tone for comfort and care on Britain’s roads.
In 1986, the original Newport Pagnell site took on its modern identity under the expanding Welcome Break brand. proof that a good idea can evolve without losing its heart.
Welcome Break isn’t just about fuel and food, it's the warm moment in the middle of the miles. A place where journeys pause, families regroup, and memories are made.
Wherever you’re headed, there’s always a Welcome Break waiting to make your journey a little brighter.
