  • Last Friday, our Finance Team spent a day volunteering at the Ronald McDonald House Camberwell. The team all did themselves proud - painting, gardening, cooking and just generally spreading a bit of love for families staying in hospital.

Although we are a fast-paced online travel company with agility and flexibility being key to how we work, our custom built campuses in rural Hythe are a world away from the hustle and bustle of the City.

Holiday Extras' fabulous open-plan spaces have kitted-out meeting rooms, shared work areas, quiet areas as well as kitchens and canteens where you can break out to play pool or table tennis. Or if the weather is good you can chill outside on a Holiday Extras deck chair in summer. 

The team like our campus so much it's almost a shame to take advantage of our flexible working approach which lets you work anywhere with your Apple Mac, any hours so long as you're contactable. Our Learning Academy, quiet lounge, supportive enviroment and focus on personal development help our team members grow. Add in days off on your birthday, summer BBQs, sportsdays and our annual paper-plane competition and you have no reason at all not to take a look!


The company's Group CEO, Matthew Pack, is committed to the vision of hassle-free travel. Since taking on the role of chief executive in 2009 - then Group CEO in 2015, he has inspired the Holiday Extras team to explore increasingly creative and innovative directions, across all areas of the business.

    I love working at Holiday Extras because I have been given every opportunity to develop in my career. Holiday Extras has helped me find what my skills and strengths are and helped me build plans to achieve what I'd like to achieve.

    I love the culture, I love the work, I love the building and I love the team.


    I wouldn't say there are any downsides. HX HQ is out of town, but there are good public transport links if you don't drive (and you can work remotely).

    I applied online. The process took 2+ months. I interviewed at Holiday Extras.


    In total I had 2 telephone calls, 1 group assessment day, and 1 solo interview. The total process from first call to feedback took 2 months. Everyone I spoke too at Holiday Extras were super friendly and encouraging and my interview experiences were very positive. However there was an huge lack of communication in between assessments, calls and interviews and it did feel like they couldn't be bothered. A bit more contact would have been appreciated. In summary, the interviews are positive, beneficial and non stressful but expect delays and non replies while you wait for the verdict.
