Pros

Recommended for those fresh out college or someone looking to switch careers. If you are an extreme pessimist and enjoy mind numbing bureaucracy you may last a bit longer than a year.

Cons

Here are the cons and some words of advice to those who will work here regardless of the huge red flag past employees are waving in your face! -The only thing that resembles an actual agency here is the use of the word in the company's DBA. -There is no such thing as moving up. The people who think they have moved up have only done so in title and have received very little compensation if any in return. Even they would acknowledge pay raises are non existent. -Do not expect a raise or annual review. You will hear a lot of talk and see no action. It won't happen, end of story. -Attempt to negotiate a salary that will position you well for your next career move. -Do NOT stay for more than 1 year. -If you're unfortunate enough to have daily interaction with the head office micro manager, you'll recognize her immediately, suck up to her, but understand the loyalty here will never be with you. Expect to be thrown under the bus daily, document and keep hard copies of all your interactions with her. This is ger first attempt in a creative environment, even though she has been there for years, and it's embarrassingly obvious. Avoid her at every cost when possible. -Remember it's only a year and if you're working here you really need a job and probably have no other options. -Creatives be ready for some hard lessons and don't lose faith in your abilities despite constant put downs from your director. He is a fixture so play your part. Expect credit to be taken from you and little to no praise. Do not engage the director, grudges are held and will waste your energy. -There are 2 decent people left here, but they don't have the pull to help you in any way. You are on your own. -Expect your work/life balance to tilt heavily in favor of work. -Your opinion will not count here. The CEO calls all the shots, and leaves the "office micro manager" to run the game.

Pros

> Scheduling flexibility > Convenient location

Cons

>Lack of trust from middle-management: from micromanaging each step of a project to ignoring suggested feedback from the staff who are completing the work > Inadequate communication on project expectations, deliverables, and timelines > Assignments are all ASAP with vague direction, little organization, and no realization of the time and resources necessary to deliver a high-quality project > Employees in leadership positions won’t admit fault and will often redirect blame to someone else > Management does not adequately invest in the company or its employees > Empty promises on team outings, compensation, changes to improve the creative process and project management > Requests for new additions to the team and new equipment to streamline efficiency fall on deaf ears > Creative team gets little or no recognition on the hard work they put in or the creative director takes sole credit for collaborative projects > When the fatal shooting of a Chicago Police officer occurred outside our office, an incident well covered by local media, no one from upper management checked in to see if we were safe or even inquired about our emotional or mental well-being If you want to be part of a team that values your input and work, this is not the place for you.
