Pros

Almost Family cares for the homebound seniors and enables them to live in their homes for as long as they wish. The mission is special. The field staff really care about the patients. The company values integrity and always strives to do the right thing for the patients.

Cons

Unfortunately the culture is terrible at many levels. Senior management is dysfunctional, meetings often involve bouts of yelling, there is lack of professional respect and trust, and that behavior tends to roll down hill to operational leaders and down to the branches. Although they have hired a culture change agent, senior mangement shows no sign of adopting new behaviors or taking it seriously at all. EQ i(emotional quotient) is seriously lacking.

Pros

There are no PROS with this company. The turnover is horrendous. 26 employees resigned on one day. No training, medical benefits are awful @ $195.00 per week out of your paycheck, the directors are micromanaged by the out of state regional staff who are absolutely clueless. The workload/paperwork is antiquated (no computers or EMR) for field staff. Most staff are either fired or quit within one year of employment. They are verbally abusive to employees.

Cons

Being that the workload is impossible and the paperwork is endless but mandatory to complete you must work overtime to get it done, however, they do not pay you overtime even if your time sheet states your are there over 50 to 65 hours. There are no raises, bonuses, or even a Thank you. The clinical staff is stretched to the max, almost to a dangerous factor where something bad is going to happen, yet it is overlooked because they want the max for the minimum and cannot keep staff employed due to the negative work environment, or they terminate you if you try to make suggestions as to how they can make things better.

They don't like their employees

Pros

They are a steady company

Cons

They put ZERO effort to keep employees. If you ask for a raise, they feel they can fire you and replace you with someone else at a cheaper cost. Their health benefits are one of the worst I've ever seen. They are so old school that they still have paper time sheets.

To Current Employee: Thank you for taking the time to leave your review on working at Almost Family. I am shocked to see that you feel we put in zero effort to keep our employees happy. Almost Family has raised the bar to make sure our employee's voices and concerns are heard by implementing the Employee Survey. In addition we do want our employees to feel appreciated and have fun at work. That is why we have an employee event committee to help plan fun things through out the year. In 2016 we had a Spring Carnival where we brought in Food Trucks, Ice Creams Trucks and local artists to perform. We also had an employee appreciation night at the Bats Game, March Madness Bracket Contest, Home Care Appreciation Month (included breakfast served by Senior Leadership Team, Chair Massages, Cookies, Jean's Days & various gifts), a Holiday lunch with a Murder Mystery Performance and a few other activities. We are always open to new ideas, so please make sure you are leaving additional feedback on the employee survey.
