A cliquey cabal of incompetence

Pros

The only saving grace is the wonderful team in the Cambridge office, for their sanity I wish it was a completely separate entity.

Cons

Product-washing at its worst, the La Jolla ivory tower retains all strategic control, PMs throw an endless list of tactics on an initiatives sheet straight out of waterfall 2004. Zero transparency and senior execs are completely invisible, there’s an absolute chasm between them and the rest of the staff. Product leadership are rude, insulting and undermining to the point of being inhuman. So if you enjoy micromanagement, burnout, and your self-confidence being bludgeoned to a pulp, Altium is the place for you.

Pros

Good product with good reputation in the EDA market. Salary was decent

Cons

Constant oversight to the point where you will hear your boss's opinion of the call you just finished. Bully culture where the most important thing is to show everyone you are boss. Saw a director bring three [people to tears in the course of one year

Pros

- Direct managers and colleagues are nice - Unfortunately, a good product that companies need

Cons

Don’t even know where to start. - In terms of stability, there is constant restructure in personnel, product and offer. Since i joined i never felt safe ,even overachieving my sales targets , due to constant restructure threat ( which turned out to be true). - direct management is very nice but has no decisional power on their team and territories and they are treated just as messengers - there is absolute no care in employees - customers buy the product only because they need it and its good value for price, but they are unhappy with choices and communication, and if they had an alternative they will absolutely go for it. - no support is given to sales team. I had to pay my own tools to work. I’m not surprised the avg quota attainment is less than 50%
