I worked at Atos full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

Some of the best people I've worked with and learnt from. Good benefits i.e. Pension scheme Dental Private health cover

    Cons

Company is rife with nepotism. It does not matter what you know or what your appraisal grade is. Friends and family will be promoted ahead of you. Expect to be head and shoulders above the rest of thecompetition for years to be given an opportunity. Promotion process is long and slow. Even if you get a promotion it does not mean that you will get same rewards as your peers. Expect a 10% payrise moving from one position to another. No support with Individual Development Plans. No time nor resources to develop technical skills. Constant travel bans that make it impossible to perform knowledge transfer. Annual redundancies in order to meet budget targets subsequently increased workload that prevented from developing automation and innovation. Timid management that could communicate what obstacles and challenges technical staff keep facing on daily basis to upper management. Lack of staff, burned out employees, weak management and increasing workload has created a toxic environment.

    Advice to Management

The whole culture within company is wrong. The aim of upper management is to constantly change roles and departments that are popular and get most of support. While you in that department you build a platform/solution that works. Not necessarily works well but by the time the flows are identified you no longer work in that department and moved on to better things in Machine Learning, Big Data Cybersecurity, Cloud, etc now this is someone else's mess to sort out.

I worked at Atos full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Non whatsoever, apart from a few colleagues

    Cons

Work your fingers to the bone to hit targets that don't matter. Basically do the 20* the amount of work as other employees but still take home the same wage. Management are spineless and can't handle constructive criticism. I would avoid at all costs as it is a backwards step. No options to progress once in the second line role unless you are fortunate enough to be in managements back pocket.

    Advice to Management

Leave the business and allow young individuals with real ideas and no agenda to take over.
