I worked at Atos full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Flexible working, opportunity to learn and move around (occasionally).
    Benefits and flex scheme.

    Cons

Too much of a favouritism culture. Pay

    Advice to Management

Listen to the people on the ground, they're the ones who are keeping the company afloat. Allow more secondments to prevent people leaving to get more exposure and experience.

    Pros

    Flexibility
    Knowledgeable colleagues
    Established company
Good benefits (life insurance, health insurance etc)

    Cons

If you're under 26 you'll be given the boring tasks
Training isn't very good (bunch of useless courses)
Grad scheme isn't rotational so you're stuck in a role you dislike

    Advice to Management

    Make the grad scheme rotational
    Give proper training - Prince2

I worked at Atos full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Great people to work with. Some excellent technical staff to work on projects with. Flexible working.

Really diverse work force due so so many acquisitions.

    Cons

Sales teams are incentivised to sell, fair play. The projects they sell though are often undeliverable. Every sales proposal is always thrown together last minute and is often unfit for purpose.

Appraisal system is a joke. You're forced to fit employees to a bell curve. Pay reviews are non existent.

You spend more time reporting what you're doing than doing anything as there are so many reports required for different levels of management. It has to be streamlined.

    Advice to Management

Invest in decent reporting tools rather than renting the whole business from Excel.

I worked at Atos full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Working from home is a great option. Very friendly and helpful colleagues. London office is wonderful.

    Cons

Could be a bit less risk averse.

    Advice to Management

Trust your people. Promote the company inside the company. Let go of the old, make the most of the future.

I have been working at Atos full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Some of the staff, probably the majority of UK techies, are great. I've enjoyed working with them but the off shore teams vary from pretty good to absolutely useless.

Reasonably flexible about working from home in majority of cases

Reasonable benefits package including prosper (Top cash Back like Scheme) on top of the fairly average salary (unless you join the graduate scheme where it seems they pay a pittance and keep it that way)

    Cons

Senior management just don't listen to senior technical staff and then seem surprised when it goes wrong

Appraisal system in the UK is a complete joke, actually feels like its been designed to trip employees up so they can blame the lack of pay rises in the poor appraisal rating

    Advice to Management

Listen to the staff who know what they're doing, seriously improve the quality of the off shore staff and scrap that ridiculous appraisal system. Try something simple like, customers praise the staff then they're doing a good job, customers complain about the staff then they're not doing a good job.

I have been working at Atos full-time

    Pros

Salary can be very good if negotiated well and excellent work life balance

    Cons

Once in the company increments are none existent and bonus is scarce

    Advice to Management

Reward the hard working and dedicated employees based on merit not the appraisal system
