Pros

You have a camaraderie with the girls that share your pain working here.

Cons

Where do I begin.. initially you’re enticed with becoming a beauty advisor for luxury Korean skincare and you’re excited when you learn about all the different brands for the first few hours. But that’s where it stops. I remember getting told off soon after for not wearing enough makeup, which I found to be quite ironic considering Korean beauty isn’t known to be as exaggerated and bold as the western style and I was only going after your brand image. The managers start nitpicking your cleaning, followed by your advice and you’re constantly berated for every single thing you don’t do right. Not approaching the customers fast enough, not giving them the most thorough consultation with every single product in the store despite it being your first few days, and not closing the sale with another product you push onto them. You’re made to feel incompetent and insecure. 2 of the red flags of note are the groupchats where they publicise everyone’s sales and rank every staff member, so you know which poor girl will be cut within the next couple of weeks. And delivering products between the branches. I was especially peeved with this because they would make you deliver them after your shift meaning you don’t get paid for the time taken, justified only because “there wouldn’t be anyone else in the store”. Their dilemma is not my predicament. There’s a reason why there’s such low staff with such short hours.

Pros

I wish i could say some positives but honestly there is not much. Lunch is an hour so that's nice i guess?

Cons

Absolute do NOT recommend unless it is your last resort and need a job. The management is very old school they are manipulative, passive aggressive, toxic with a high blame culture. They give you false promises and sell you a dream but don't fall for it because they are very good at making YOU feel bad for things that you shouldn't feel bad about like making a simple mistake. They will grill you and be extremely passive aggressive by making sure to throw you under the bus in front of everyone. It can be very humiliating. Expect to work anywhere to 8-11 hours on the regular as these people expect that life = work and work = life. It is unspoken but don't expect to leave on time or they will talk sh*t behind your back and whatever. They will contradict themselves when you say you're burning out by saying you need to balance your life but oh boy, if you take leave for a week or two they will talk sh*t about you. Personal emergency? They don't care about that. They will talk sh*t behind your back. They pretend to care but it's only because they want you to stay at the company as they have an EXTREMELY high turnover rate. Saw so many people crying due to the toxic work culture. It is hard to take it up with fair work because they are smart enough to not having any of their ethical malpractices in how they treat staff on record so it's hard to prove. No career progression as well so just do the minimum amount of time and get a new job. It is a toxic environment to work under. Care about your mental and physical well-being? Please avoid at all cost because you will end up contemplating your life and fall into a real depression. I am writing this so people don't make the same mistake as me and the other people who made the mistake of working here. It is an extremely hierarchical organization and they monitor EVERYTHING you do by snooping in everything and try to make you turn on your fellow colleges. Work flexibility? Non-existent. They expect you to work during the weekend by either checking emails or whatever when they pay you the minimum (some under the minimum)LMAO. Can't stress how much of a living nightmare this place was and i hope people are able to read this before applying/taking a job at BONIIK.

Pros

some of the girls you work with are the only pros because you share the same pain but the others are terrible to work with cos the company forces a competitive culture and gives out rankings

Cons

the managers are extremely rude people, no sympathy, hard to be around yet they act like they are better than everybody. like no.. you are in your mid-twenty’s- forties and working in a retail store that marks up the prices cos yall are broke most of the job is using a feather duster and dusting the nonexistent dust off the products (big boss will watch the employees on cctv) we cannot just stand there in the store when theres nothing to do (nothing to restock, wash, dust because the store gets very little customers) if we do just stand there, we would get called out in the group chat because thats how professional they are assistant manager is only assistant manager because she is ‘fast’ not because she knows how to be a manager. she will yell in capital letters in the groupchat, with no self awareness. they will force us to be clingy onto customers and talk away, even though customers do not like it (which makes them leave the store). they do this because they dont make enough money to pay the employees for enough hours, so every single customer matters. and also generally, ppl do not walk into the store because it is in the train station, yet management will blame it on us for ‘poor sales’ and then give us less hours cos nobody wants to buy a ton of overpriced kbeauty products when theyre about to catch a train
