Pros

I'm not bitter or upset with this company. I seriously can't think of anything positive or encouraging to add here.

Cons

No real HR department. Issues with husband and wife management team have to be taken to your supervisor who is also their young, impressionable daughter. The turnover rate there is almost weekly. The office atomosphere is extremely oppressive.

Pros

Pay was really just based on how hard you worked, so if you worked hard then you made a lot of money which was really nice. Your paycheck was a direct reflection of the work you put in. I see a lot of complaints about upper management, but that was never my experience. I only really interacted with two of the managing partners, and they were great very helpful and accommodating, and I interacted with them on an almost daily basis. My direct manager was great and one of the most knowledgeable people I've ever met. Coworkers were fantastic, and the recruiter was also really nice. The break room had a cool coffee machine that also made hot chocolate (which I drank every day). It really felt like a little family. I had to leave due to things going on in my personal life that were affecting my work, however I really enjoyed my job and I would recommend working at Building Blocks to anyone who is considering it.

Cons

There is a steep learning curve when you first start which could be frustrating at times.

Pros

Co-workers are for the most part great. Coffee machine in the break room. They train you really well, or they try to.

Cons

Whatever they tell you you're going to make on yearly commissions is absolutely not accurate at all. No one has worked there for more than a year (even the recruiter). And if they have, they are family members of the MPs and other higher management. For a part "human resources" company, they have no HR department. In the entire time that I have worked there, any HR person they hired didn't last the week. They rejected any attempt to trying to get a day off because my department would supposedly be swamped... that busy time? Slowest ever. Total waste of time and resources. Their hiring and dismissal policies reflect that they don't care for their employees and as such every time they'd hire a new group, rarely anyone would actually stay to work more than a week. (Working there for as long as I did was a mistake on my part. Thinking that they actually meant what they told me.) Obvious favoritism and preferential treatment and you'd get punished if you spoke up. They will mess up your paycheck. I was specifically told that I can only work in the position offered to me if I got hired and that I wouldn't be able to advance or transfer to a different position regardless of my qualifications "because it wouldn't be fair and we'd have to offer that to everyone."
