I have been working at Capgemini Invent full-time for more than a year

    Pros

    - Great place to work if you are a grad/ junior recruit - good focus on learning and development - Interesting projects but you wont always get a projects aligned to your specialisation or even your industry - Friendly and relaxed environment with an open-door policy

    Cons

    - Don’t join as an experienced hire - no real recognition of prior experience or benchmarking - This is a place of ‘natural progression’ regardless of performance - no point in going the extra-mile or taking initiative - As such, there aren’t many thought leaders or SMEs left and most of management appear to have been promoted beyond their level of competence.

I have been working at Capgemini Invent full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Many nice people within the business, it's real shame about the cons

    Cons

Like many recently hired and existing "data science consultants", you're very likely to find yourself in a business analyst (or worse) role. It is not an exaggeration to say you're misled during recruitment and hiring and are told to "deal with it" upon landing. I've heard of people who have been on non technical roles for over a year. The churn in data science consultants reflects this. Apparently there is no performance bonus and very minimal pay increases for those below Senior Consultant grade. All personal development is on your own time and even when you get some qualifications and experience, there is no guarantee of a new role.

I have been working at Capgemini Invent full-time for less than a year

    Pros

talented people working for the company

    Cons

Company is recruiting very aggressively. Hiring very technical people for roles that do not require technical skills. There is no data science work. there is more supply of data science talent than there is actual work to do in this field. If you join, you will end up formatting slides and excel for months at the time. If you take your technical career seriously, you should not join this company. Management does not really care, they know this is happening and they don't do anything about it, except keep hiring PhD's to format power points. Think twice.

I have been working at Capgemini Invent full-time for more than a year

    Pros

    - Great communication of bid wins, promotions, leavers and exciting future prospects - Emphasis on continuous learning for all. Very willing to invest in development and see how this benefits them as a company and the individual. - Great socials (when lockdown isn't a thing). - Almost everyone I've met seems friendly and easy to talk to at all levels

    Cons

    - Promotion process is a very grueling 2 months - Like most consulting firms, you can end up getting put on client site very far away. In the coming year, we will see if it is possible to be more remote on these occasions which will make a large difference to employee happiness - Slightly lower pay than other similar firms, but worth it if they have such a positive culture
