I have been working at Creative Support full-time

    Pros

Lovely staff, great ethos, trying their best

    Cons

The organisation gets a lot of flack from support workers, but you'll find these problems in all other organisations and companies in the care sector.

I worked at Creative Support full-time for more than 19 years

    Pros

I worked there for over twenty years. I found management to be reasonable and were always sympathetic and supportive through a serious health issue I had. Staff at head office were exceptional. Very friendly and always prepared for a laugh. I have some lovely memories of my time there. Training, both internal and external was never a problem for me and attended numerous trade courses.

    Cons

Greatly underpaid for the responsibility I had. Tried on numerous occasions to get my salary in line with the industry standard to no avail. Staff, in general are underpaid for what they do

    Advice to Management

Pay peanuts, get monkeys. I know there are financial constraints but you need to try harder to pay your staff their just rewards.

I worked at Creative Support full-time for more than 8 years

    Pros

Excellent training and career progression, opportunities for peer supervision and networking. Committed support staff maintaining the person centered focus on the the individual residents.

    Cons

Creative support have become too large to feel known, low pay and very little recognition for working above and beyond

    Advice to Management

Ensure that operational managers are communicated with when things are going well and not only when there are issues that need addressing.

I worked at Creative Support full-time for more than 19 years

    Pros

Supportive to an extent Flexible working hours The service users and staff teams I worked with

    Cons

For 10+ years I was happy I my role however there were many issues I can who against in the last few years. Communication from the exec team was a big issue. I worked up and down the country being as supported and committed as I could and got no thanks in the for going above and beyond. Payroll has always been an issue and will never change until the systems are all electronic. The hard work goes unnoticed even...

I have been working at Creative Support full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Making a difference to the lives of people that use the service

    Cons

The project manager has favourites, he works between 2 shelters depending on what staff are in he will decide which shelter to work in, he flirts with certain staff and these staff tend to get preferential treatment and promoted. Wages are occasionally wrong and the projects are always short staffed. Low pay

    Advice to Management

Treat all staff the same and look after the hard working staff

    Pros

Meeting Other Support Staff, working with the service users.

    Cons

    - The Pay was always incorrect. You could spent weeks just chasing it up and sometimes Payroll would refuse to pay you, and their excuses could be anything from. Them blaming you in having lost the paperwork (even when you had proof,) or them stating that you had requested that they amend their error too late. Even if you had been chasing it up for months. -The training opportunities (Such as the NVQ 3) are not always...

    Advice to Management

-Payroll needs to be sorted out. The issues have been going on for too many years -LISTEN to your staff. Effective team work is all about working together, not punishing people who may have noticed a problem. -No contracts given to staff who are working for the company. Even after 7 or 8 years. That is illegal. -Give training to your staff. You can not advertise or state that you will give NVQ's when there are members...

Great service users, training isn't too bad i suppose, I've had good seniors at the two sites i was based at.

    Cons

Seriously how many times are you jokers going to lose staff because of the payroll department? There's only so many times you can say we do everything we can to support our staff before you start looking like a laughing stock. I have literally just resigned today 24/12/18 because it's taken 10 days, multiple phone calls, emails and me threatening legal action just to get the money i was owed. Yes yes i know whoever...
