I have been working at DFID full-time

    Pros

Flexible working hours, part time working and job shares

    Cons

Internal transfers difficult, inexperienced line managers.

    Advice to Management

Line managers need to be sufficiently trained and experienced. Kids straight out of uni should not be managing experienced members of staff regardless of them being in the grade above.

I have been working at DFID full-time

    Pros

Lots of internal opportunities. Plenty of time to complete apprentice work and day-to-day work. Flexible working.

    Cons

Work has peaks and troughs. No real choice or influence in what department you are placed in out of the departments available.

    Advice to Management

Provide a focus on future opportunities and continuous development, with a clear path and support on how to move forward in your career.
