I have been working at DHG full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

*Good size teams and managers to help you learn *Solid benefits and perks *Mostly nice coworkers that are happy to help you and want to see you succeed

    Cons

*Do the work of your managers but get paid 1/3 less than them *Politics run everything *Can't trust HR. If you share the smallest concern, it's told to everyone and you're blacklisted forever as "checked out" or "not a team player" *You can't just do your job and go home. Expected to be at your client and managers beckon call

I worked at DHG full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Great people there. Considered a "nice" firm. Almost no one is let go for cause.

    Cons

Management is hesitant to commit to change, so any change in operations takes months or longer. No one knows how raises or promotions work for non-client facing professionals. Promotions for client facing professionals are getting more and more competitive.

I have been working at DHG full-time

    Pros

--CEO is authentic. Genuinely cares, communicates often with all staff, fosters transparency --Firm continues to grow, and expand geographically --Financially sound --Growth opportunity for college grads and early career professionals

    Cons

-- A "grow from within" culture. Limited value given to external experience, diverse perspective and new ideas. Few experienced hires made from outside. Focus tends to be college interns and recruits. External hires can find it difficult to integrate and become accepted into the fraternity type culture. --Justification stretches to hire in talent at lower levels and lower pay, A quote from a meeting pertaining to hiring and pay grades "just because they were a (xxxx job title) and strong performer in their previous company, this doesn't mean they know how WE do things" wink wink. Many companies take this approach to control salaries and limit management bloat. Just something to note if considering pursuit of a role at DHG. --Despite corporate messaging efforts to promote culture change, lack of diversity is an issue. Anyone other than white males tend to be alienated, not provided the same opportunity, and leave the firm fairly quickly. --Empire building . Managers prioritize and focus on meeting requirements for promotion of their staff and subsequently themselves. Practice areas tend to prioritize the protection and expansion of territory. Commonly seen in consulting. --Significant percentage of staff were furloughed. During this furlough period, new hires and promotions were announced and celebrated on social media. tone deaf
