      Great people - lack of management

      Pros

      Working here is great fun, the team are sociable and very friendly. Working hours are very flexible and you’re able to WFH when needed. The office is pretty cool and there’s a flat structure environment.

      Cons

      Serious lack of management, probably due to being a startup. A lot of the time managers are not in the office and are unable to support junior members of staff. Despite pledging a non-hierarchical approach, this very much depends on the department you work in, who your boss is.

      You said it and the founders listened- there has been a People and Culture function at DrDoctor since 2018 November. We now have a development framework, 1:1s, 6-month reviews, and a mentor program to ensure everyone has the support they need to succeed. We also run quarterly pulse surveys to collect feedback as we continue to grow.

      A part time employees candid review

      Pros

      Active and passionate founders Exceptionally supportive and highly skilled EA with an inspiring positive outlook. Hardworking and dedicated line manager Enthusiastic and innovative people team Internal employee feedback is encouraged Great work life balance Would recommend on a full-time basis as hard to collaborate with other departments, achieve any career growth or recognition within a fast growing company when working part time

      Cons

      Stagnant job role with no opportunity for career growth, learning and development. Lack of inclusion and wider company perks within a part time role. For such a small department sparse communication from head of department and lack of inclusion and supportive leadership. Witnessed a senior member of staff make a racially offensive and crass comment which they felt comfortable enough to make in the presence of a founder, a very much isolated incident however important to highlight when such behavior is tolerated by a company striving to be diverse and inclusive.

      Pros

      Serious about what they do but not stuffy or stuck up. Open management that shares with the employees. Great people's culture with flexible working arrangements that respect everyone's individuality. Added bonus: the dozens of social events (even when working remotely!)

      not super organised but currently working on improving processes
