Pros
Varied work experience, nice people, occasional stretch assignments, competitive compensation, good intercompany website, webinars and training, support for professional licenses, good sales & marketing to Fortune level companies, international opportunities abound, good upper management teams.
Cons
The following are not really cons, just reactions to business climate. Currently undergoing integration of many recent acquisitions, ENSR, RETEC, Earthtech, and others which has temporary challenges - but going pretty good. If you are in an office that is moving and changing the career advancement can be rapid, but if in a smaller or less active office it can seem slow. Recent economics has meant a few layoffs, and more emphasis on being billable. Since AECOM is a publically traded company, managers seem to have more pressure to hit home runs at the end of each month and quarter as compared to the legacy companies – just seems more aggressive and less forgiving than before acquisitions (less fun). Cash bonuses can seem small and discretionary.
