Pros
It's a great place to begin a career. I was hired with Legacy URS Corp right out of college and am working on a variety of projects during various phases of completion, and am getting a lot of great experience. However...
Cons
I don't see myself staying here long term. Opportunities for advancement aren't even discussed long term. It seems as though where you are hired on is where you will stay. The salaries are really not that competitive either, so there is a fairly high turnover rate. In addition, it seems that management doesn't really understand what goes on at the operating level, and there is a lot of frustration since the merger between URS and AECOM. Objectives are made which aren't always feasible, i.e. billable hours. People were given promotions over others despite others having way more practical experience. In our office, a good number of people were laid off due to budget issues, while in the next meeting management brags about how we made even more money than projected compared to other regions. It doesn't seem to add up to me and I really just sense a lot corporate greed.
