Pros
Great direct reports and knowledgeable and experienced staff but their morale was impacted by the constant poorly executed changes imposed by executive management. HR was supportive but couldn't really affect change.
Cons
This is a toxic and chaotic work environment. My manager had no leadership or management skills. He was a tyrant and bully. He didn't listen to concerns or risks from his direct reports. "Just get it done" attitude regardless of impact. Unrealistic targets and performance goals. No work/ life balance. 12-14 hour days M-F and working weekends is expected. Inequity in pay across similar positions. Executive management is only concerned about cutting costs and disregards any impact to processes and employees. The corporate culture is non collaborative. Poor communication, lack of strategic direction. Right hand doesn't know what the left hand is doing. Constant rapid change with very little planning and impact analysis to the business processes and no risk analysis. URS conversion was a disaster. Multiple major "improvement" projects went on at the same time that impacted employee resources but the impact to employees and morale was always ignored. This is typical method of operation.
