Pros

Good opportunities to move anywhere you want in the country, travel for work, and work from home if you are a manager and are looking for those types of opportunities. Your career at Amazon is what you make it. It could be the job that makes your career and financial future, or it could be a miserable experience if you don't actively try to seek out what you want. Meaning, your promotion is in your hands- you have to initiate the next step in your career and then managers will support that happening, but it won't fall into your lap unless you seek it out. It can be pretty easy in the EHS sector of Amazon to become a regional manager compared to other huge companies in America. The value in that is when you take that title externally to a different company.

Cons

Most of the opportunities people find promoting internally are through relocating. If you're not open to that, your success may be limited or significantly delayed. This is only a con for some, mostly those with families. Compensation included stock and the value of your currently held stock portfolio, so there may be times when you don't get the raise in base pay you should just because of the valuation of your shares. That is messed up and makes people feel trapped in their job until their shares vest.

Pros

Really smart people, a lot of opportunity for growth, always encouraged to be innovative, think big, and create something new. Competitive salary and benefits with other major tech companies. 100% self motivating work environment. No dress code and 4 legged friends are welcome.

Cons

You have to be self motivated. NO ONE will hold your hand and tell you that you're doing a great job. If you need constant affirmations from management, this company isn't for you.
