    I have been working at Amazon full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    Amazon has a culture focused on the customer. This focus, combined with being completely data-driven, means that we are always working on the most impactful projects and features.

    Moreover, this culture allows every employee, independently of the level and position in the org, to promote their ideas and see them delivered in production, as long as you can prove your point with data.

    Each manager is instructed to think about the growth of the people reporting to them, beyond their own team. Amazon employees can easily pursue growth opportunities, changing team, org, job family, and country: all without having to change company.

    Undoubtedly, the best company I have been working for.

    Cons

    The bar of the talent within the company is always raising: if you do not like to challenge yourself, constantly learn, and have a "always day-1" mentality, it might not be the right place for you.

    I have been working at Amazon full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

    * High hiring bar = super-smart colleagues
    * Broad range of projects across disparate domains, allowing for new challenges without moving company
    * No ivory towers: everyone shares their knowledge, and anyone can challenge anyone else's proposals regardless of level or experience
    * Plenty of career opportunities: role shifts encouraged & SDE progression does not mean management (although I chose to!)
    * Competitive salary, benefits & RSUs

    Cons

    * No-one will stop you taking things on: if you don't learn to say "no" you can easily get swamped
    * Extremely wide grades means promotions are infrequent (it may take 10+ years to get promoted once you've reached 5+ years' experience) and very high-effort

    Advice to Management

    * Fix the grading structure and promotions system
