    Hard work, long unsociable hours.
Lots of focus on associates engagement with little towards manager engagement as i believe its expected with the wage.

I have been working at Amazon full-time

    Pros

There are a lot of interesting problems to tackle and solve for. The ability to move internally is good, so personal development is easy. Amazon stock price has done well over the years so it's nice to see that benefit employees directly.

    Cons

Because the company is doing so much, there is a lot of things that come at employees. I've had to develop a strong backbone to say "no" to things that are not a high priority to me to ensure I maintain a good work/life balance.

    Advice to Management

Be sure to keep an eye on workload and what is "realistic" for a healthy work/life balance. Build in personal development time when doing project planning and resource planning.

I have been working at Amazon full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Amazon allows you flexibility in implementing solutions, you are constantly learning something new, the company changes and improves in a quick pace and has a very positive vibe. People here are different, more vibrant, more informal (in a positive way) and the career opportunities are great. Never thought that after 50 I would feel so motivated to work.

    Cons

By far, my main complaint is the lack of proper management training; to be fair it is getting much better as I write this review, but is far from the ideal for such a huge company. I also work longer hours than I would wish, but part of the fault is my own; that being said, I don't imagine a manager working less than 50/55 hrs a week.

    Advice to Management

    1. Allow for sabbaticals.
    2. Allow for career progression through internal programs, mba, etc. There is too much focus on the external hires and not enough on the talents inside the company.

I have been working at Amazon full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    - A great company to have on your CV, will open a lot of doors

    - A lot to learn for a Software Engineer and there are always stuff happening and new teams forming. You can either go to existing products or work in new teams that develop new and cool stuff

    - If you like doing more than coding, you have the chance to. The company is very open to having well-rounded employees

    - Stocks are great and pay is also quite good

    - Company is actively trying to get rid of its bureaucracy

    Cons

    - A large company, with all the disadvantages that any large company has: things can move very slow at times, it's not a flat hierarchy (we have a tool that shows us just how hierarchical we are) and quite a lot of politics

    - If you're not the type to stand up for yourself, you'll likely hate it here. Management will always be understanding, but they won't be your nanny

    - You own your career development, so if you don't get involved and prefer to have things come to you, you might not like it here

    - The pay will always exist to make Amazon competitive, but they won't give more salary or rises out of the goodness of their heart

    Advice to Management

Continue the work on making everything more open, and try to give salary bumps that don't just reflect inflation rate
