    Pros

I have been working at Amazon full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Working with smart people everyday is exhilerating, you are constantly learning, amazing opportunities for career growth and to write your own path, ability to switch job families and learn new functional areas, ability to work globally with multi-cultural teams, ability to transfer to offices around the world.

    Cons

Competitive culture in Seattle, like any big company, some people are mean and difficult to work with. Culture of working a lot, even though management doesn't force long hours.

    Advice to Management

Encourage employees not to work too much. Even though management doesn't force/push long hours, everyone are over-achievers, so you must encourage not working at home, not staying late, etc. to change the culture so there is more balance and employees don't get burnt out. And change the policy of pay - at 4 years everyone takes a drastic pay cut with final vesting of initial stock grants, and the base pay is so low that without stocks everyone takes a drastic pay cut, do you not want to keep employees who have lasted 4+ years?
