Pros
Especially in AWS there are very few places where you get to engineer systems that work at such a high scale. Completely different tier of distributed system challenge. I have always been able to set a reasonable work-life balance.
Cons
Right now compensation is still primarily stock-based and the current price is well below recent grant prices. Most teams require oncall rotation which can be challenging. Working with other teams to get on their roadmaps for an integration is sometimes hard.
