Pros

Set shifts, same four days in every week. Opportunities for overtime. Free tea and coffee. Occasional perks for various holidays.

Cons

In interview I had to explain one of my examples to a graduate manager like a baby and he got frustrated with me like a baby. Should have known then what I was getting into but it was a role a few steps down from my last responsibly and pay wise so I survived by reminding the graduates of that so managed to keep expectations of what I would and wouldn’t do as a first line manager realistic. Graduates and non graduate managers would scream at staff as they were out of their depth and mirrored what the more experienced ones would do but they were all stressed all the time so graduates would mirror this due to lack of experience. From what I saw it was difficult for managers to get into senior roles internally as graduates with no experience but a degree in philosophy from a red brick university would be externally recruited instead. Which contributes to the problem of being too heavy with inexperience.

Pros

Really smart people, a lot of opportunity for growth, always encouraged to be innovative, think big, and create something new. Competitive salary and benefits with other major tech companies. 100% self motivating work environment. No dress code and 4 legged friends are welcome.

Cons

You have to be self motivated. NO ONE will hold your hand and tell you that you're doing a great job. If you need constant affirmations from management, this company isn't for you.
