Pros
Barclays provides a strong professional environment with clear processes and a strong focus on compliance, governance and customer protection. During my time there, I gained valuable experience working on complex KYC and financial crime processes, analysing operational data and collaborating with different teams across the organisation. The training and exposure to regulatory frameworks were particularly beneficial for developing analytical and problem-solving skills. The organisation also encourages teamwork and knowledge sharing. Many colleagues are highly skilled and supportive, which makes it easier to learn and grow professionally. Working in a large global bank also gives employees exposure to large-scale operations, structured processes and advanced systems.
Cons
Like many large organisations, processes can sometimes be complex and decision-making may take longer due to multiple layers of approval. In some teams, workloads can increase during regulatory or operational peaks, which can create pressure.
