Pros

Your colleagues. Great hard working people.

Cons

Exclaimer is a company that thrives on uncertainty. Leadership is toxic, and despite repeated assurances from the CEO that each round of redundancies will be the last, the cycle continues. The atmosphere is one of fear rather than innovation, with employees left wondering when the next wave will come. Hard work and talent don’t get you far unless you’re part of the inner circle. Promotions and recognition are based more on favoritism than merit, making it frustrating for those who genuinely want to contribute and grow. The benefits package is underwhelming, with pension contributions are poor and little else to make employees feel valued. Despite all the talk about growth and opportunity, it’s clear that Exclaimer prioritizes cost-cutting over its people. If you’re looking for a company that values transparency, stability, and employee well-being, this isn’t it.

Thank you for your feedback. While we’re sorry to hear about your experience, we value honest input as it helps us improve. As Exclaimer’s relatively new CEO, my priority has been addressing challenges to set the business up for long-term success. This has required tough but necessary decisions, which we don’t take lightly. We understand change can bring uncertainty, but transparency and communication remain top priorities, and we continually assess how we can improve. We are committed to recognizing hard work and talent, and we’re investing in a new learning and development program to support career growth. If you have concerns about fairness in promotions, we encourage open dialogue—you can always reach out to me or your People Business Partner. We’re also reviewing our benefits to ensure they remain competitive. Since this post, we’ve improved the UK pension scheme, with more enhancements to come. Your feedback matters, and I’d welcome a conversation to better understand your concerns. We’re committed to making Exclaimer a great place to work and are listening to our people. -Rob (CEO)

Pros

My experience with the company has been very positive overall. I initially worked with the company for some months before becoming a permanent member, which gave me a great perspective on the culture, and that positive experience ultimately reinforced my decision to join full-time. I feel genuinely supported by my manager, my close team, and the wider leadership team. Hard work, proactiveness, and going the extra mile are recognized, and potential doesn’t go unnoticed. There are plenty of opportunities to showcase your skills and share your own perspective, which makes the work both engaging and empowering. The benefits and perks are good, and many initiatives are thoughtfully designed to be inclusive. In the tech space especially, shifting priorities and moving pieces are to be expected. It’s a fast-paced environment, but if you stay adaptable and continue to add value through strong performance, there’s real opportunity for growth and impact. I also appreciate the clear 'you said, we did' approach. Employee feedback is taken seriously, and action is often visible.

Cons

As with any large organization, there are areas that could always be improved. No company is perfect, but it’s not the challenges that define a company, it’s how it responds. What stands out here is the speed, ownership, and intention behind fixing things and moving forward.

Pros

None that meaningfully outweighed the damage caused by leadership and culture. Any initial positives—friendly onboarding, attractive messaging, or surface-level perks—quickly disappeared once the reality of the environment became clear.

Cons

This was the worst company I have ever worked for. At first, the people seemed great and the company presented itself as having a strong culture and clear values. Over time, repeated leadership changes, broken promises, and a lack of consistent direction made it clear that the culture was more branding than reality. Management was disorganized and often ineffective. Expectations shifted without communication, commitments were made and quietly abandoned, and decisions frequently felt misaligned with the values the company claimed to stand for. The environment itself felt deeply unhealthy. I observed behavior that crossed professional and ethical boundaries and normalized conduct that would not be acceptable in a healthy workplace. There was a culture of excess and poor judgment that filtered down into how people were treated and how business was conducted. It created instability, distrust, and emotional exhaustion. What began as a role I was excited about became a place with no sense of future or growth. It ultimately did not align with my values or the kind of organization I ever want to be part of. Thank you for taking the time to share this feedback. I am genuinely sorry to read how negative your experience was at Exclaimer, and I take seriously the concerns you have raised around leadership, culture, and trust. Even when feedback is difficult to read, it matters because it helps us reflect on where we have fallen short and where we must do better. It is clear from your comments that the environment you experienced did not align with the values or standards we aim to uphold. When direction is unclear, commitments are not followed through, or leadership actions do not align with stated values, it can create frustration and disappointment. How people feel at work matters deeply, and when that breaks down, we need to understand why and address it. We remain focused on strengthening leadership accountability, reinforcing expectations, and ensuring our values show up in everyday decisions and behaviours. Culture is defined by what people experience over time, and that continues to be a core area of focus. I know this response will not undo the impact of your experience, but I do want you to know your feedback is heard and taken seriously. If you are open to it, I would welcome a confidential conversation to better understand your perspective and ensure those insights help inform how we continue to improve. I wish you well in what comes next. — Rob [CEO]
