Pros
Competitive salary and immediate vacation benefits is a bonus. Outside of the local GE shop, there are opportunities to move around the company if you can last 18 months to be eligible to transfer.
Cons
Lack of direction from upper management. Long hours working 60+ hours a week. Multiple single point failures in employee staffing. Local GE management sets unrealistic expectations for craft production. Mid Level management supervises craft that are represented by labor unions and are unable to hold anyone accountable. Understaffed workforce+unrealistics and unachievable goals=miserable workforce. Very high turnover in lead technical specialists results in low level of knowledge. Since being hired within the last year, four personnel have left this location.
