Pros
Flexibility to build my own schedule and work from home. Benefits and perks are decent. Only a handful of people were trustworthy.
Cons
They grow by acquiring other insurance and HR consulting companies. I was originally working at an acquired company in Canada, so the culture shock in the integration was big. I came from a tight-knit, collaborative and warm culture, and what I've encountered in this massive organization was very far from that. These are the main points that I did not appreciate: - Culture of toxic positivity: constant "everything is great" messaging - No acknowledgement of mental health issues or existing conflicts - Very slow and bureaucratic, to the point that it hurts customer relationships - Restrictive processes and procedures, esp. in IT and HR - Lack of diversity in management - Lack of learning opportunities and career development - Low base salary, although you get a lot of PTO - No collaboration or teamwork
