Pros
- Most colleagues are great to work with, are very helpful, and many are really smart/excellent programmers - You can get to work on some really interesting problems - Career opportunities probably OK - Work/life balance is mostly OK - Salary OK (but not great compared to other companies in the area)
Cons
- Way too much custom-built/legacy code, some of it kludgy - When I joined, i was told during interview process that it wouldn't be a problem to work from home "at least 1 day a week" without providing special justification. It turns out this is in fact rather frowned upon by manager. - We are being forced to take vacation around Christmas/New Year because the company closes down completely - BUT management does not want to give employees the time off.
