Pros
Line management is great, 2/3 of mine wholeheartedly seem to love their role and will support you to the degree they can do so. If you like getting set in a disease type or specific sponsor and really just changing trials within those - this is for you! Several people now hold this position as opposed to when I started and it was newer. I would still recommend this job to others, but have a goal you plan to push for yourself so you don't get stuck in this role too long.
Cons
There doesn't seem to be interest in developing the career path for the role. In several studies, the role easily feels stale instead of innovative - same things, different day. Annual increases are minimal if received/not delayed. No bonuses and hardly anything qualifies for tuition /certification reimbursement.
