Pros

Pay, development and training opportunities, and professional / ethical environment. Somewhat flexible hours. Advancement opportunities if you're willing to work the hours.

Cons

Beyond unreasonable hours and workload, especially for client facing account management staff. Hours are flexible in the vein that you get to pick which 12 hours of the day you work... But you still have to get that amount of work done. Same thing with vacation, very generous amount, but you have to make up the work before and after - there's no true backup. From what I can tell this is. Mercer wide issue. My particular office head is hands down the worst people manager I have ever encountered. The entire office feels this way and has been expressing this to upper management for years, but no action has been taken and as a result our office continues to be a revolving door for talent. This issue is specific to my office, and is not the case in other offices I've worked with.

Pros

-Trustworthy immediate colleagues -Good work/life balance and flexibility

Cons

-Little career pathing within company. Organization is extremely siloed, and cheap as they simply aren't interested in paying for small things to advance one's career like local industry conferences and events such as team holiday dinners that would have minimal impact on the company's bottom line. -Pay not aligned with skills or talent marketplace -One would think a benefits/career consultant would have decent pay and benefits. This is not the case
