Pros

I think the national company has good intentions.

Cons

Mercer Phoenix has a strategy of finding intelligent workers and then pitting them all against one-another in sort of a "may the best man win" sort of way. After I had been there for about two months, a colleague told me that in order to be successful there, you needed to be able to throw other people under the bus, and in his mind, I didn't have what it takes. He was a major under-the-bus-thrower and is very successful there. The bullying culture was unlike anything I have seen in my career and not something I wanted to get used to.

Pros

-Trustworthy immediate colleagues -Good work/life balance and flexibility

Cons

-Little career pathing within company. Organization is extremely siloed, and cheap as they simply aren't interested in paying for small things to advance one's career like local industry conferences and events such as team holiday dinners that would have minimal impact on the company's bottom line. -Pay not aligned with skills or talent marketplace -One would think a benefits/career consultant would have decent pay and benefits. This is not the case
