Pros
- Encouraged communities of practice to allow networking between employees in similar roles. - Provides two-week bench time to open up to nationwide opportunities when looking for more work. - Decent salary for the geographic area. - Compared to other contractor vendors, I think vacation and holidays are probably above average. - Limited interaction with management or other employees required. This is both good and bad. - No pressure to work extreme hours.
Cons
- Minimal support when it's necessary to find another project. - Real training is lacking unless client specifically requires something for the entire company. - Raises, bonuses, promotions are a myth unless you are in management and actively bringing in new accounts to the company. - Health benefits are not good - high deductibles/high premiums. I guess it's better than none, but you might want to look around.
