I worked at NTT DATA full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Young dynamic work force and senior management encourage working place collaboration. Lots of consultancy work so plenty of travel. Most people of helpful especially London office. Career path is there as the company is growing but limited. They do have a training budget and encouraged to do training. They pay market rates. Globally very big company but uk it's a combo of small companies under the name brand so can have its challenges. Good pension scheme. No one to really hold you back to try different things out. Work life balance is good depending on your manager attitude.

    Cons

Digital practice are quite aggressive and do not have a good reputation internally so do some of the ex telco staff as they now run the place. Birmingham staff very grumpy but other offices staff are OK. Expenses policy needs updating, I. E travel Lodge. Can be difficult to get things done due to lots of companies they brought out still act alone. Difficult to go up the ladder especially if you not part of the inner circle of lower management.

    Advice to Management

Deal with digital practice attitudes and update the expense policy.

I have been working at NTT DATA full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    - Great community feeling, colleagues are encouraging and feel like a team not competition
    - The opportunity to work with well know clients on varied and interesting projects
    - Flat hierarchy means senior leaders on projects and within the company are easy to access
    - There is a good emphasis on training through internal communities but also opportunities to take part in external training
    - Compared with other consultancies there is less focus on utilisation and more opportunities to try new roles, projects and ways of working

    Cons

    - NTT is not a known brand in the UK (However we still work with big household name clients)
    - Currently only one promotion cycle per year which is less than other consultancies

    Advice to Management

Make sure the great culture and community is maintained/improved as the company expands

    Pros

Great company to work for, focused on people and on continuous improvement. Genuinely care about staff. CEO has fantastic growth agenda, which opens up huge career opportunities for those with an entrepreneurial spirit. Long term view, innovation and quality are at the core of the company values.

    Cons

Brand needs to be more present in the market. Also needs to integrate its subsidiaries and sister companies faster, to leverage synergies.

    Advice to Management

    Keep up the good work!

I have been working at NTT DATA full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Great people. Even if client is not great you still get to work with brilliant people.

People are generally helpful & willing to spare time for peer reviews and collaborations. This is tangible in the quality of work delivered.

For younger profiles a good opportunity to try a number of very different things before they start to specialise.

Internal collaboration not imposed. Very much volunteer-based.

Flat structure. Client manager level very approachable.

    Great office location in London.

    Cons

No brand recognition so experience difficult to sell.

Difficult to find areas of specialisation as people develop. As the company in the UK grows I hope there are opportunities for focus and specialisation.

Global brand misaligned with the consultative approach existing in the UK business.

Travel arrangements don't compensate for extra hours of traveling effort. This is sub-standard in the industry.

Minimal choice of international placements or secondments.

Pension plan less generous than industry standard.

    Advice to Management

Most of the cons are known and have an action plan against them. So keep up that good work!

    Pros

Lots of opportunities for interesting work on varied client base
Flat hierarchy, with very approachable leadership
New CEO in 2017 is fantastic, and very focused on making NTT DATA and even better place to work
Strong focus on Diversity & Inclusion, and CSR
Growth mindset with a friendly, collaborative and driven bunch of colleagues

    Cons

Still relatively new in the UK, so some work to be done on internal processes and benefits package
Brand not very well known (yet)
Similar to other consultancies, can be difficult to maintain work/life balance

    Advice to Management

We are definitely heading in a good direction, so keep it up!
